There are a few situations we have found during installation that can cause complications. Please make sure you are logged in with Administrator Privileges and that your anti-virus software is set to prompt you for program permissions.
WSP+ 4.0 does not use Internet Explorer as its HTTP client; it uses a Win HTTP client for speed and functionality. You need to allow access to the internet and thru your firewall to this client in order for WSP+ 4.0 to register the trial version, full version, and execute Datapages and Packages.
If during installation your progress seems to stop and roll back, please make sure that you received the full installation file by downloading the zip file for WSP+ 4.0 and that you are logged on with Administrative Privileges. Also make sure that WSP+ 4.0 has access to the internet via your firewall.
Lastly, we have seen problems with installation and while running the program because of corrupt MDACs (Microsoft Data Access Controller). It is estimated that about 10% of MDAC installations are corrupt. Please review the following thread from our Support à Forums à General "Error Starting Providus After Install" linked here:
